Product Description An internationally acclaimed strategy game, Othello takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. Simple enough for children, yet challenging for adults, it's great, fast-moving fun for the entire family. Choose to be black or white and strive to get the most discs flipped with your color face-up at the end of the game. White can turn to black and black can turn to white again and again in this constantly changing game. Includes: 64 reversible discs, one playing board, six playing board "feet" and instructions. For 2 players. Board measures 14.25"L x 10.19"W x 1.25"H.

A terrific game -- and not just for kids! February 15, 2010 flickfreak (USA) Many reviews have talked about how great Othello is for kids -- and it is! But make no mistake, adults find this just as absorbing and challenging as chess.

br /For once, an advertising slogan is true: "A minute to learn. A lifetime to master."
br /
br /Well, it might take as much as two or three minutes to learn, or to teach to someone. Then you're ready to go.
br /
br /And don't let the phrase "A lifetime to master" discourage you. It means that you'll never outgrow this game -- you'll learn something new every time you play. It's ideal as a social game, lasting only ten or fifteen minutes (serious players may want to take more time).

br /I bought Othello in 1983 when it was made by Gabriel. Some reviewers have expressed reservations about the quality of Mattel's version. But remember, this can be played on any 8x8 board, and you can use your own containers for the pieces. So don't let that stop you from discovering this great game.
An upgrade from mancala for the family February 9, 2010 A. Wally (MA) Lots of fun...Both 11 yr odl and 9 yr old surprised MOm with beginer luck. I was shocked to see how strategic they got and quickly...hours of fun for all...
Challenging and Fun! February 1, 2010 J. K. Rowling (CT) If you like tic-tac-toe type games - this is the ultimate. With the game board changing with each move it is lots of fun right to the end!
A Classic Game that my kids love December 27, 2009 R. Lancaster (Texas) I wondered if my kids would enjoy this as much as I did when I was little. They sure do. They got it on Christmas day and we had to make them stop to go to bed. It's been a long time since something that did not require batteries held their attention like this.
for everyone September 20, 2009 Gutsy travel gal (Arizona) This is really easy to learn but hard to master. A family game I sent to my grandchildren to continue the tradition of games after the family dinner.
